Energy efficiency
The Régie de l’énergie approved all the proposals made in the Global Energy Efficiency Plan, namely the enhancement of certain existing programs and the creation of two new programs for steam systems.
All information on the enhanced existing programs is available below. The new terms are available to clients as of November 1, 2023. Our new programs will be launched in early 2024.
Solar preheating: more grant money available!
The grant for solar air or water preheating through solar thermal collectors has been improved.
You can now receive a grant of $3/m³ of natural gas saved, up to a maximum of $200,000.
Studies and Implementation
Our Business and Major Industries clients now have access to the same grant amounts:
- Up to $50,000 to conduct a feasibility study
- Up to $1,000,000 to implement measures identified in the study ($1/m³ saved)
- And up to $15,000 for energy monitoring!

Energy management system available to more customers
All of our Business customers can now benefit from grants to implement an Energy Management System (EMS) and continuously improve their energy performance.
- Up to $25,000 for a diagnostic evaluation
- Up to $150,000 for implementation
- Up to $175,000 to track savings
New programs available in winter 2024!
We are pleased to announce that the Régie de l’énergie has approved the two new programs that will be available in early 2024:
- Boiler system rooms optimization
- Steam traps maintenance
