Refuelling stations

Two forms of natural gas storage on the vehicle: compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG)

On highways in Quebec, Ontario and the United States

You can count on the network of public refuelling stations in Quebec, Ontario and the United States. We now have several public compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations strategically located to serve you better, and others are currently in the planning stage! There are now more than 800 in North America.

Your vehicles return to base every day?

In addition to public stations, a private, time- or fast-fill CNG station is another advantageous solution. Several financing methods are available to help you build your station, including renting. A number of suppliers provide station design and construction services to meet your needs.

Time fill

Time-fill stations don’t use a storage tank. They can refuel an entire fleet of vehicles over an eight- to twelve-hour period. This is ideal for drivers who return to base every evening. Once their work day is over, they simply connect up their vehicle at their regular parking space, without having to line up. This type of station also offers an excellent return on investment as it is less expensive than a fast-fill system.

Fast fill

Fast-fill stations can fill up a tank with CNG as quickly as diesel at a cardlock commercial diesel station. They have powerful compressors and high-pressure storage tanks. This type of refuelling is found at public refuelling stations.

What is the difference between a CNG station and an LNG station?

  • A CNG station can be installed wherever the public natural gas system is available.
  • An LNG station can be located anywhere, as LNG is made at a plant and delivered by tanker truck, similar to gas or diesel. This type of station requires cryogenic tanks since LNG must be maintained at -162°C to remain liquid.
  • Whether it’s at a CNG or LNG station, you can fill up with renewable natural gas (RNG), whether compressed (CNG-R) or liquid (LNG-R).
