In October 2019, Énergir and the Union des municipalités du Québec (UMQ) signed an agreement on the coordinated management of public spaces for urban infrastructure networks. In summary, the agreement provides for:

• A lump sum payment of 2.5% of the value of the work involved in implementing and improving the gas network (projects which did not require prior approval by the Régie de l'Énergie).
• The equitable sharing of costs in relocating gas installations
• Énergir provides a roadway performance guarantee of four (4) years following completion of the work.
• The provision that, where possible, Énergir undertakes to limit interventions on roadways that have been subject to a major intervention by municipalities within the past five (5) years.
