New Conditions of Service and Tariff
The Régie de l’énergie has tentatively accepted the new rate cases, effective October 1, 2023. A final decision on the new Conditions of Service and Tariff is expected in the coming months. These conditions set out, among other things, natural gas service conditions, billing and payment methods, applicable rates, and the respective rights and obligations of the customer and Énergir.
Unfortunately, Énergir is announcing an average overall rate increase of 2.7% over last year’s rates, excluding the supply rates. Here is how this increase could affect your annual energy bill, depending on the building type, energy consumption and other factors:
- Newly built single-family home (160 m²) = no variation
- Small retail space (15,000 m³) = + $35/year
For information purposes only. Values are approximate.
The annual increase varies based on several factors, such as the type of home or the equipment installed. The above annual increases are for all components of the bill, including supply and CATS.
Our teams will be happy to answer your questions or evaluate your situation should you have concerns.
