Here’s some information and advice about other natural gas suppliers and stakeholders, so that you can make the best choice.

Who are the other gas suppliers?

Suppliers: A legal entity (i.e.: a natural gas producer, an energy brokerage firm, or an energy agent) with whom Energir establishes appointments directly. A nomination represents the process of managing the flow of natural gas on the gas network between different receipt and delivery points.

Other Stakeholders: An individual or legal entity that provides strictly consulting services to Energir's customers (i.e.: consultants or brokers).

They are independent companies specializing in the purchase and resale of natural gas to individuals and businesses. They are not mandated by Énergir and act on their own behalf. They are completely autonomous in their interactions with our customers.

Tips if solicitors approach you

A supplier, consultant or broker may approach you to offer direct-purchase natural gas supply services.

Your choice to commit to direct purchase with a specific supplier has no impact for Énergir. Énergir respects a principle of neutrality with regard to the various suppliers present in the market.

Here are some things to know and our recommendations:  

The individual must clearly communicate that they represent a company independent of Énergir, and that they are completely autonomous in approaching you.
You are under no obligation to share your personal or consumption information when a solicitor approaches you.
We encourage you to validate the offer and compare different offers before committing. Don’t hesitate to contact an Énergir representative if you need more information.

Protection of personal and confidential information

Énergir will not disclose your personal information or consumption data to any suppliers or other stakeholders, unless you advise us otherwise. Énergir has a Privacy Policy and a Code of Conduct that protect all customer information.

Responsible natural gas supply

Natural gas supply: measurement, monitoring and disclosure initiative

Energir has set up an initiative for the measurement, monitoring and disclosure of natural gas supplies. This initiative aims to encourage credible disclosure and the use of good environmental, social and governance practices by producers in their operations. This initiative involves natural gas producers obtaining the EO100™ certification developed by Equitable Origin.

Equitable Origin is an independent non-profit organization that works with companies, communities and governments to develop a system of voluntary standards for the energy sector. These standards are consistent with other internationally recognized environmental, social and governance initiatives and standards. EO100TM is based on five key principles:
